Production and evaluation of a radio production instructional material
Share
Abstract
The main aim of this study was the production and evaluation of a radio production instructional material. This study is mainly descriptive using qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Three sets of jurors--experts, faculty, students--evaluated the material with the use of an expert-validated evaluation form. The data gathered from the evaluation were subjected to statistical treatment using means and ranks. Results of the study showed that a teacher of media and communication subjects can produce a handbook with the help of skilled manpower. The total cost spent was Php 21,070.50. The making of the material took three months while the evaluation was completed in eight months. Compilation of material content, however, was done through 26 years of teaching experience. Problems encountered were insufficient funds, limited time to write the handbook, and lack of affordable quality printing technology. The material was rated very acceptable by the three sets of jurors, generally, and in terms of physical aspects, objectives, instructions, learning activities and evaluative measures. However, the three sets of jurors differed in ranking the acceptability of the various aspects. Suggestions for improvement were more on the physical aspects and addition of paper-and-pencil tests on theoretical concepts.
