Introduction: &#13;
Cholera remains a significant public health threat globally, but its impact can be significantly reduced with the right knowledge and correct preventive practices. Conducting a study to provide baseline data and identify knowledge gaps on cholera will benefit at-risk and vulnerable communities. This research aimed to determine the household heads' knowledge about cholera and its prevention in a barangay in the Western Philippines. &#13;

Methods: &#13;
A cross-sectional survey using a questionnaire was conducted in an urban barangay in Iloilo City in Western Philippines among 252 randomly selected household heads in May 2023. Data were described, and t-Test for independent samples and one-way ANOVA were used to test for differences. &#13;

Results: &#13;
The majority of household heads were generally knowledgeable about cholera and its prevention, but only 51.2% knew that oral rehydrating solution (ORS) could help manage symptoms of cholera. Furthermore, there was a significant difference in knowledge about cholera and its prevention based on sex (t = 2.92; p = 0.004). &#13;

Conclusions: &#13;
Household heads understood well and were informed of cholera and its prevention, although there were still some misconceptions. Continuous health education and knowledge assessment are recommended to raise awareness and ensure correct and timely information dissemination regarding cholera.

<summary type="text">Differentiation between organic and non-organic green onions using image classification with hyperparameter tuning

Differentiation between agricultural organic and non-organic crops involves professional laboratory techniques using expensive devices. This research domain requires a real-world dataset (RWD) which is limited depending on the subject or issue of the research study. Thus, this work presented real-world green onions image datasets collected from various locations in Iloilo, Philippines. The gathered datasets fit ground truth criteria with notable information (e.g., size, width, height, resolutions, the weather during the time it captures, and place) for similarity differentiation. Moreover, this study aimed to design and develop a non-intrusive image classification using Deep Learning (DL) methods such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Transfer Learning Models provided hyperparameter tuning. Hyperparameters are sets of variables that govern the training process of DL models. These variables remained constant over the training process and directly impacted the performance until it acquired results around 99% training and 96.25% validation accuracies. With this, an application was developed and successfully assisted users in differentiating organic and non-organic green onions using image classification.

<summary type="text">Food safety and sanitation: Awareness, attitude, and practices among street vendors

This survey-correlational study, conducted on December 2019, aimed at ascertaining the street food vendors' awareness of, attitude towards, and practices related to food safety and sanitation. One hundred forty-seven (147) street food vendors in the City of Iloilo, chosen at random, served as participants of the study. A researcher-made data gathering instrument that include the Food Safety and Sanitation Awareness Test, the Rating Scale on Attitude Towards Food Safety and Sanitation, and the Rating Scale on Practices Related to Food Safety and Sanitation, was used gather the data. The instrument was submitted for face and content validation to a panel of experts and was trial tested for reliability. Frequency count, percentage analysis, mean, and standard deviation were employed as descriptive statistic, while the t-test for independent samples, the one-way analysis of variance, and the Pearson's r were employed as inferential statistics. The .05 alpha level was used as the criterion for the acceptance or rejection of the null hypotheses. The study found out that, generally, the street food vendors were fully aware, have positive attitude, and highly practiced food safety and sanitation. Finally, the street food vendors' attitude towards and practices related to food safety and sanitation were positively and significantly related.

<title>Protection value of Maasin Watershed in Iloilo, Philippines</title>

<summary type="text">Protection value of Maasin Watershed in Iloilo, Philippines

This study ascertained the dependency of people’s Willingness To Pay (WTP) for the protection of Maasin Watershed. The people’ WTP aims to ensure the provision of a reliable water supply for the households and implement measures protecting the Maasin Watershed. A total of 400 respondents who were the direct beneficiaries and stakeholders were interviewed using the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM). Majority of the respondents showed a WTP for the protection of the Maasin Watershed, with the computed mean annual WTP of Php 221 per household. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. Findings further showed that parameters of income, household perceived groundwater as main source of water, and alternative water source were found to be statistically significant. In the same way, predictors of religion, water availability and water safety were found to be statistically significant. Household income, alternative source of water, and religion have a positive relationship with WTP. Its positive coefficients indicate that as the independent variable increases, the dependent variable also increases. Conversely, significant negative coefficients indicate that as the independent variable increases, the dependent variable decreases. However, there was an inverse relationship between WTP and household perceived groundwater as main source, water availability and water safety, due to the lack of awareness of the respondents about the source of raw water supply that comes from the Maasin Watershed that reduces the WTP for Maasin Watershed reservation.
