Abstract
This study was conducted to find out and determine the teachers' awareness of inclusive education in the tertiary level as the basis for development of public information dissemination for the faculty members of West Visayas State University-Main Campus. The Descriptive Survey Research was employed in the study and researcher-made questionnaire was utilized. 50 faculty members at the West Visayas State University- Main Campus were considered as respondents of this study. Data gathered were analyzed through mean, standard deviation of descriptive analysis. For inferential analysis, Pearson Correlation Coefficient (r) were employed. All quantitative data gathered were processed throught Microsoft Excel and the Statistical Package Social Science (SPSS) software. The result showed that the teachers' level of awareness of inclusive education are "high" regardless of their age, educational attainment and employment status. The teacher's awareness of inclusive education has no significant relationship when classified to age and employment status. However, a significant relationship existed in the teachers' awareness of inclusive education when classified according to educational attainment. The IEC materials that were created were simple for teachers to get facts and information. Teachers, regardless of their age, educational attainment and employment status, have a "high" level of awareness on inclusive education in tertiary level and have a grasp of knowledge about inclusive education in the tertiary level. Teachers have a "high" level of awareness on inclusive education but not "extremely high", to enable them to become "completely aware" of inclusive education in using the IEC materials that might be a great assistance for them. Tertiary level institutions could conduct training and seminars about Inclusive Education not just for the teachers but also for the non-teaching personnels, in order for them to understand and know how to extend their help to students with educational needs. This would be a great effort to become an Inclusive Education institution.
