| dc.description.abstract | This survey correlational research aimed to determine the level of equity sensitivity, and the degree of organizational justice, and group cohesiveness among hospitality educators. Conducted during the second semester of the academic year 2011-2012 in four campuses of West Visayas State University and in eight colleges and universities in Iloilo City, the study utilized 111 randomly selected hospitality educators who were teaching subjects in BHRM, BOT, and related fields as participants. This investigation utilized the standardized Montanari and Moorhead's Group Cohesiveness Questionnaire, the Sauleya and Bedeian's Equity Sensitivity Instrument, and the Colquit's Four Dimensional Measure of Organizational Justice. Percentages, means, standard deviations, t-test for independent samples, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson's r were the statistical tools employed in the analysis of the obtained data. Significance level for all inferential tests was set at.05 alpha. The study revealed that generally the hospitality educators were pretty well cohesive, they were benevolents in terms of equity sensitivity, and to some extent experienced organizational justice. The hospitality educators differed significantly in their extent of group cohesiveness when classified according to educational preparation- - in favor of those with doctorate degrees. No significant differences existed in their extent of group cohesiveness when they were classified according to sex, number of years in teaching, status of employment, and teaching-related training. They also did not differ significantly in the level of their equity sensitivity when they were classified according to sex, educational preparation, number of years in teaching, status of employment, and number of teaching-related training. However, they differed significantly in their degree of organizational justice when they were grouped according to educational preparation -in favor of those with doctorate degrees. Positive and significant relationships existed between equity sensitivity and organizational justice; between equity sensitivity and group cohesiveness; and between organizational justice and group cohesiveness. | en |
