Abstract
This survey-correlational study aimed to ascertain the relevance and effectiveness of educational tours as assessed among non-hospitality and tourism educators. Conducted on January 2017, the participants of this study were the 157 randomly selected non-hospitality and tourism educators in the different public and private colleges and universities. The simple random sampling was employed while a researcher-made data-gathering instrument was utilized to obtain the information needed for the study. Frequency count, percentage analysis, mean, and standard deviation were employed as descriptive statistics, while t-test for independent samples, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson's r, all set at .05 alpha level of significance, were used as inferential statistics. Study results revealed that the non-hospitality and tourism educators assessed educational tours as extremely relevant and extremely effective. No significant differences were found in the relevance of educational tours as assessed by non-hospitality and tourism educators classified according to status of employment, educational attainment, school type, and length of service. Likewise, no significant differences existed in the effectiveness of educational tours as assessed by nonhospitality and tourism educators classified according to status of employment, educational attainment, school type, and length of service. A positive and significant relationship existed between the relevance and effectiveness of educational tours as by among nonhospitality and tourism educators.
