dc.description.abstractThis Design Research aimed to address the students' least mastered competencies in Purposive Communication course. The researcher-made test was administered among the BSEd second year students of West Visayas State University-Janiuay campus during the School Year 2022-2023. The input-process-output adopting the ADDIE model was utilized in the development of the CANVAS Learning Management System, and the researcher-adapted questionnaire from WVSU for non-print instructional material was used to determine the level of acceptability, accessibility, and functionality of the LMS. The Canvas LMS was tried out among the first year BSEd students of the same campus. A guide questionnaire was used to gather the learning experiences of the students after using the LMS. Selected teachers who handled the general education course validated the instructional module in terms of face and construct validity. Mean and standard deviation were used for the analysis of data. Moreover, the thematic analysis was done using the NVivo 12 to analyze the responses on the experiences after using the LMS. The identified least mastered competencies included only the five competencies which obtained the lowest scores. The identified least mastered competencies were the bases in the development of the Canvas LMS. The evaluation of the general education content specialists and information technology experts on the level of acceptability, accessibility, and functionality of the designed LMS was very high in all aspects. Further, the students perceived the use of learning management system as useful and functional. The very high evaluation of the GE specialists and IT experts on all aspects of the LMS infers ideal features of learning platform. It is recommended that the CANVAS LMS will be utilized in teaching the Purposive Communication subject to address students' competencies.en
